An LLC, corporation, limited partnership or foreign entity can add a source question before title, escrow, lender or attorney review is ready. This handoff helps the sender separate SOS, Comptroller, lender and title-commitment clues without trying to decide authority, tax status, coverage, insurability or legal effect in the first public note.
Send the exact entity name, the source checked, the date checked, the property and the first question. The Secretary of State, Comptroller, lender, underwriter and legal counsel still control their own records and decisions.
These public sources were checked on August 24, 2026. They help a transaction professional collect a cleaner first packet, but they do not decide signing authority, tax consequences, title status, underwriting, coverage, insurability, lien priority or legal effect.
The Secretary of State says a Certificate of Fact - Status is official evidence of an entity's existence or authority to transact business in Texas, and that it states the entity's current legal name, formation or registration date and status.
